D&D for noobs

OK. This is for anyone who wants in on the online D&D game. We'll get to the rules of play as we go. The first session will probably be sometime next week. We'll discuss a time later. Here's how its going to work-I'll type everything that is said in-game as a comment on a special post. You guys are probably going to have to press F5 repeatedly to get my messages. You will then type whatever it is you want your character to do/say and back and forth. Got it?

First thing is for you to pick a race. The races are Human, Elf, Half-Elf, Dwarf, Half-Orc, Gnome, Halfling, Aasimar and Tiefling.

OK. It's pretty simple. Most of the races follow the Fantasy archetype set by generations of tales and epics. I'll give you specifics on your chosen race after you choose it. The only thing I can think of that would be unfamiliar to anyone who hasn't read LoR are the Aasimar and Tiefling.

Aasimar=Human, who is descended from a Celestial (similiar to an angel)
Tiefling=Human, Descended from a Fiend

OK. Classes pretty much fall into archetypes as well, but they are made to be versatile enough for individuals to enjoy stepping outside the box.

Some Classes: Barbarian, Bard, Cleric, Druid, Fighter, Paladin, Paladin, Paladin of Freedom, Paladin of Tyranny, Paladin of Slaughter, Scout, Rouge, Ranger, Wizard, Sorcerer, Ninja, Monk, Beguiler, and Dragon Shaman. Pick any that you especially like and I'll tell you all the important stuff about that class.

Weapons: Name any nongunpowder weapon and you can probably have it.
