The Bard's Tale-Only the coolest Game (with the exception of Halo) mankind has ever produced!

I never thought that I liked as much as Halo: Combat Evolved and Halo 3. I have. I can honestly say that The Bard's Tale is the best RPG that has been created by a human.

You play as the Bard, a likable scoundrel. You choose what scores to put points into (strength (for melee combat) dexterity(for ranging) Vitality(for not dying) luck (for finding stuff, I assume) Charisma (for getting better prices) and rhythm (for your summoning). The game starts in humble Houton, a small town in the middle of no where. And thats pretty much all I can say about that-mainly because your choices actually affect the game-you still have to go through the towers, but you control how people veiw you.

But this is not why the game is so good. The main reason is that the game is actually funny. The Bard and narrator get into arguments frequently, the narrator slipping in snide comments if you act like a jerk, adding advice if you have no idea what's going on, and so on. Alot of it, however is just the parody of it-the whole purpose of the game is to save the Princess, which, wouldn't you know it, just involves getting through 3 towers and then saving the princess. The Bard notices this and grumbles about it. But, like I said, the best part is the dialouge. Here's a sampler from the game: Bard: This is sword is the only thing that can kill you, right? Trow: Yes. Now give it here. Bard: And if I kill you it breaks the curse? Trow: Yes. Now hand it over I will free you. Bard: Here, catch! *Throws sword through Trow*

A bit predictable, yes, but still, funny as heck, you have to admit (especially as it goes on)
