Wont blog for about a month.

Regarding Dungeons and Dragons

Ok. Everything's going great for the D&D-BlAde and I are "Dual-Dming", so to say-we each take half of the DM's regular responsibilities-I'm making sure you guys learn the rules and become familiar with the game, and Blade is in charge of actual play.We put together a really sweet first level that draws the charecters together nicely. I think are going to enjoy this.

Now we need to set a date-is Wednesday OK with everyone? It'll probably be around Seven, so clear your schedules. If Wednesday's not good, jujst tell me and we'll try to find a day that is.

Chelsey's Dragon Shaman

OK. This is for a more in-depth customization of your character. I'm only posting about Chelsey, because Kaitlin, you haven't confirmed what class you want (I'm assuming you want an elven Druid, but tell me if I'm wrong). So here are a couple of questions, some of which are only for Dragon Shamans, some are for every character.

First off, what dragon do you want to take your powers from? (You get the breath weapon and a few other powers as the game progresses)

Gold, Silver, Bronze, Copper, Brass, Red, Blue, Black, White, or Green. All of the Metals are good, all the colors are evil.
Gold, Brass and Red Dragons breath Fire.
Silver and White Dragons breath Ice.
Bronze and Blue Dragons breath Lightning.
Copper, Black and Green Dragons breath Acid.

There are 5 Defining "sides", so to say, based on your character's personal views-Good, Evil, Chaos, Law, and Neutral. Neutral can be either a side, or the lack of a side. Every Character must choose 2, unless you take neutral. This is your alignment. It defines how your character acts. The Possible alignments are Lawful Good, Chaotic Good, Neutral Good, Lawful Neutral, Chaotic Neutral, Neutral, Lawful Evil, Chaotic Evil, and Neutral Evil. Often the "Neutral -----" Is called "True ------"

Your Alignment must be within a step (that is, you can't be on one of the opposite "sides") of your Dragon (Dragon Shamans only).

*Kaitlin, tell me if you want an Elven Drud or not-If so you can only take certain weapons I'll type the list later, if you want)

D&D for noobs

OK. This is for anyone who wants in on the online D&D game. We'll get to the rules of play as we go. The first session will probably be sometime next week. We'll discuss a time later. Here's how its going to work-I'll type everything that is said in-game as a comment on a special post. You guys are probably going to have to press F5 repeatedly to get my messages. You will then type whatever it is you want your character to do/say and back and forth. Got it?

First thing is for you to pick a race. The races are Human, Elf, Half-Elf, Dwarf, Half-Orc, Gnome, Halfling, Aasimar and Tiefling.

OK. It's pretty simple. Most of the races follow the Fantasy archetype set by generations of tales and epics. I'll give you specifics on your chosen race after you choose it. The only thing I can think of that would be unfamiliar to anyone who hasn't read LoR are the Aasimar and Tiefling.

Aasimar=Human, who is descended from a Celestial (similiar to an angel)
Tiefling=Human, Descended from a Fiend

OK. Classes pretty much fall into archetypes as well, but they are made to be versatile enough for individuals to enjoy stepping outside the box.

Some Classes: Barbarian, Bard, Cleric, Druid, Fighter, Paladin, Paladin, Paladin of Freedom, Paladin of Tyranny, Paladin of Slaughter, Scout, Rouge, Ranger, Wizard, Sorcerer, Ninja, Monk, Beguiler, and Dragon Shaman. Pick any that you especially like and I'll tell you all the important stuff about that class.

Weapons: Name any nongunpowder weapon and you can probably have it.

The Bard's Tale-Only the coolest Game (with the exception of Halo) mankind has ever produced!

I never thought that I liked as much as Halo: Combat Evolved and Halo 3. I have. I can honestly say that The Bard's Tale is the best RPG that has been created by a human.

You play as the Bard, a likable scoundrel. You choose what scores to put points into (strength (for melee combat) dexterity(for ranging) Vitality(for not dying) luck (for finding stuff, I assume) Charisma (for getting better prices) and rhythm (for your summoning). The game starts in humble Houton, a small town in the middle of no where. And thats pretty much all I can say about that-mainly because your choices actually affect the game-you still have to go through the towers, but you control how people veiw you.

But this is not why the game is so good. The main reason is that the game is actually funny. The Bard and narrator get into arguments frequently, the narrator slipping in snide comments if you act like a jerk, adding advice if you have no idea what's going on, and so on. Alot of it, however is just the parody of it-the whole purpose of the game is to save the Princess, which, wouldn't you know it, just involves getting through 3 towers and then saving the princess. The Bard notices this and grumbles about it. But, like I said, the best part is the dialouge. Here's a sampler from the game: Bard: This is sword is the only thing that can kill you, right? Trow: Yes. Now give it here. Bard: And if I kill you it breaks the curse? Trow: Yes. Now hand it over I will free you. Bard: Here, catch! *Throws sword through Trow*

A bit predictable, yes, but still, funny as heck, you have to admit (especially as it goes on)

The Art of Chaos-Prolouge

Aramil Bloodoak entered the crowded inn. The Fat Purse. Please. He managed to navigate his way to a small table in the back. The Table was crowded, relative to its size. The Center of attention appeared to be a slim black Creature. His eyes told the tale of unknowable power. Directly in front of him sat a cheery little person. Bloodoak smiled. Halflings. How he loved the little people. This particular halfling was called Lidda, a very famous thief. Of course, fame was not something many thieves wanted. Then again, Lidda was not your everyday rouge. To the left of Lidda stood an absurdly large cross-between a toad and a human. His three arms clutched One-and-a-half-handed swords. Obviously a bodyguard. Aramil approached the table. Lidda immediately noticed him and greeted him warmly. The black creature nodded. The equivalent of a gift of gold from this particular individual. The three armed freak grinned and waved. Aramil smiled again. It was good to be back.

Cookies? In the Closet?

One thing that bothers me is that so many people keep their jewelry/valuables/ID/cash in a COOKIE TIN IN THE BLOODY CLOSET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I mean would that ACTUALLY put off a thief? Really, would any self respecting Burglar NOT check a box in the CLOSET????? And, in any case, who would keep COOKIES IN NEXT TO YOUR CLOTHES???????? Are they just like "I'll wear this jacket...I guess not...It's covered in COOKIE CRUMBS!"

Under Maitenence
